WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AUGMENTED REALITY

First of all, in today’s competitive environment, a growing number of firms try to establish their presence in the market space. Even though the potential of the Internet in shaping business strategies is widely acknowledged, many industries still struggle to attract customers. Consequently, on the spectrum between real world and virtual reality, which creates immersive, computer-generated environments, augmented reality is closer to the real world. Augmented reality adds graphics, sounds and smell to the natural world as it exists. There are many tools & devices that can aid in augmented reality. Continue reading to check out what are they!

AUGMENTED REALITY TOOLS

There are three main categories of augmented reality tools.

3D viewers. This allows users to place life-size 3D models in your environment with or without the use of trackers. Trackers are the simple images that 3D models can be attached to in augmented reality.

Browsers. Camera displays are enriched with contextual information. For instance, you can point your smartphone at a postcard to display the information of the building’s history or directory.

Gaming. You can feel the immersive gaming experiences that utilize your actual surroundings. The most widely known use of Augmented Reality to date is the Pokémon Go. This game allows users to catch virtual Pokémon who are hidden throughout a map of the real world.

AUGMENTED REALITY DEVICES

Three main augmented reality devices:

Mobile devices. Augmented reality acts like a magic screen, through the viewer you can see holograms and manipulate 3D models.

PC and connected TV players. Augmented reality works through a webcam and relayed through a screen. This can be quite difficult to handle when you have to manipulate a tracker in front of your screen.

Head mounted displays, glasses, and lenses. Augmented reality becomes a part of your entire field of view, making for more life-like augmented reality experiences and it almost feels like Ironman with the help of Jarvis.

In conclusion, augmented reality provides readily available tools as well as devices to help you improve your sales, digital retail, navigation, and even design. While we are able to use augmented reality to help visualize objects that are not physically available in the room, it is also noteworthy that augmented can create immersive brand experiences that engage consumers to a new level.
